We're grateful for everyone we get to work alongside. Wishing you all a warm and happy Thanksgiving! Forged in steel. Ready to move mountains. Introducing the first Skills Advance Ontario graduating cohort of 2026! Training is now underway at @fanshawecollege ! CSTEC'S Voices of the Trades shares the real experiences of workers building careers in Canada’s industrial workforce and highlights the training providers and programs helping them take their next step. Big machines. Bigger opportunities. We’re excited to share that eligible Algoma workers and their families now have access to confidential mental health support at no cost through the Steelworker POWER Action Centre. Our Applied Welding and Applied Mechanical Program participants kicked off their journey with Orientation Day at Sault College. Behind every day of progress are the backs that carry the weight of hard work. Machining is more than working with machines. It’s using technical skills, accuracy and problem-solving to create the components Ontario’s industries depend on. Former Algoma Steel workers are gaining hands-on experience in heavy equipment operation as they prepare for new career opportunities. The training builds on their industrial experience and provides practical skills for work in mining, construction, and other growing sectors across Northern Ontario. ⏰ One day. One last chance.

The Canadian Skills Training and Employment Coalition (CSTEC) is an enabler of innovative, multi-stakeholder solutions to training related problems faced by employers and unions within the broader manufacturing, mining, and forestry sectors.
