Move From Manufacturing Into the Industrial Trades
Skills Advance Ontario helps manufacturing workers build the skills required for higher-skilled industrial careers. The program is designed around practical training that builds on the experience workers already have rather than assuming everyone needs to start from the beginning.
What Could You Train For?
Depending on your interests, aptitude and the employment opportunities available, training may lead toward areas such as:
- CNC and machining
- Machine operation
- Welding
- Mechanical and industrial maintenance
- Industrial trades
- Other technical manufacturing occupations
The goal is to connect training with occupations where employers are actually looking for workers.
Who Is AIM For?
AIM is for youth under the age of 30 who are interested in building a career in industrial manufacturing.
You do not necessarily need previous manufacturing experience. What matters is finding a pathway that fits your interests, abilities and career goals.
CSTEC can help you understand those different options, identify appropriate training and connect the training to a realistic employment pathway.
If you are under 30 and interested in industrial manufacturing, tell us what kind of work interests you. We can help you figure out the next step.
