The Canadian Skills Training and Employment Coalition (CSTEC) is proud to announce that we have been named as an Apprenticeship Service Provider. Through this funding from the Government of Canada, we are mandated to encourage and support Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) to hire, register, and train new first-year apprentices, with a focus on equity-deserving groups in Industrial Red Seal trades, in Ontario.
The objectives of this grant are to:
- Identify, support, and assist in registering first-year apprentices, including those from equity-deserving groups which includes women, Indigenous people, newcomers, persons with disabilities, racialized communities,
including Black Canadians and LGBTQ2+; and - Promote and market the benefits of hiring new first-year apprentices.
Eligible manufacturers can receive a $5,000 incentive for hiring a new first-year apprentice in a Red Seal trade. This incentive raised to $10,000 if the apprentice is from an equity deserving group.
